Escandalo de Pajaros en el Jardín (2023)

(Bird scandal in the Garden)

I seek the experience of the sacred through light, exploring it from its phenomenology, its science and its metaphorical scope. I try to prolong the experience of sunset through a repertoire of research instruments, where light dialogues with time. In this exploration, inspired by the solar cycle, the agitation of the birds at dusk seems to be a poetic response to the dying light, translating the ephemeral and the eternal. This moment generates a natural state of consciousness in which the movement of time is understood: the sun descending, setting and preparing a new tomorrow, accompanied by a glorious scandal of birds.

These analog photographs, found objects, natural resources and almost extinct tools of the ancient photographic profession reveal the visible, the intangible and the present that is slipping away. Poetic fossils, alphabets of secrets, metaphors of the passage of time and perhaps even premonitions. These time machines merge past, present and future as a testimony of memory, of the transgenerational and of the relics that build our architecture of being. The installations, when activated by the sun itself, function as sundials painting and questioning our relationship with the present time.

These amulets of the sun awaken a nostalgia for the analogue era. Beyond their nostalgic beauty, they express a metaphorical language that evokes what is seen and recorded, what is not seen but is recorded, and what is seen but not recorded. A reflection on life itself: each image articulates emotions linked to the fragility of life cycles and the transcendence of experience.
